 Level 1 and 2 Data Products:
  • The 532 nm and 1064 nm Rayleigh backscatter and extinction cross-sections were updated and added to the metadata records of the Lidar Level 1 profile products and Lidar Level 2 aerosol and cloud profile data products.
  • The 532 nm and 1064 nm ozone absorption cross-sections were updated and added to the metadata records of the Lidar Level 1 profile products and Lidar Level 2 aerosol and cloud profile data products.
  • The IGBP max value was changed from 17 to 18 for Lidar Level 1 and 2 data products.
  • The orbit number and path number was added to the Lidar Level 1 and 2 file metadata records.
Lidar Level 2 Aerosol and Cloud Profile Products:
  • Eliminated the Lidar Level 2 data product named 40-km Aerosol Profile Fixed Lidar Ratio.
  • Eliminated the Lidar Level 2 data product named 40-km Aerosol Profile Best-estimate Lidar Ratio and added Lidar Level 2 data product named 5-km Aerosol Profile Best-estimate Lidar Ratio.
  • New parameters were added to the Lidar Level 2 aerosol and cloud profile data products. They include:
    • extinction QC flags
    • CAD scores
    • re-worked atmospheric volume description array
    • column optical depths for cloud, aerosol, and stratospheric layers
    • column feature fraction
    • column integrated attenuated backscatter and cumulative probability
    • initial lidar ratios for all cloud, aerosol, and stratospheric subtypes
  • The cloud layer fraction was added to the aerosol profile data products.
  • The aerosol layer fraction and surface winds were added to the cloud profile data product.
Lidar Level 2 Aerosol and Cloud Layer Products:
  • New parameters were added to the Lidar Level 2 aerosol and cloud layer data products. They include:
    • column optical depths
    • layer top pressure
    • layer base pressure
    • layer mid-point pressure
    • layer top temperature
    • layer base temperature
  • The parameter "single shot cloud cleared fraction" was added to Lidar Level 2 5-km cloud and aerosol layer products.
