TARFOX_WALLOPS_SONDE

This dataset contains the Vaisala radiosonde data acquired during the
TARFOX experiment at Wallops Is. during July 1996. There were 25 sondes
launched during the experiment; all launches were made on the island
from building X85. The filenames include the date and time of launch.
Times are specified as Universal Time (UT).

Each file is an ascii file. There are several header lines followed
by a few lines describing the columns of data. These columns contain
time after launch, pressure, altitude, temperature, relative humidity,
range, angle, wind speed and direction. The data follows after this.
Note that data are acquired prior to launch when the radiosonde was
being prepared for launch. Actual flight data follow these prelaunch
data.

At least one sonde (sonde_960724_1829) had noisy data; others may also
contain some obvious bad data.
