MISR PGE System Design

See the explanatory text below.

PGE System Design.

This diagram shows the partitioning of the MISR production software design into the respective Product Generation Executables (PGEs), or executable processes, for Level 1 and Level 2 processing. If you would like a nicer version of this same diagram for hard copy reproduction, a PDF version is available. [To display and print the PDF file, Adobe's Acrobat reader is required.]

Although not illustrated here, the Level 1 PGE's 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 all use as their primary input the respective forms of MISR Level 0 data. On the other hand, PGE 7 uses only the spacecraft navigation and attitude data. As a pre-requisite for PGE 1 and thence for the Level 2 PGEs, PGE 7 creates geometric parameters that describe the Space Oblique Mercator (SOM) map projection and related parameters, which are used by the Level 1B2 and the Level 2 products.
