This diagram shows the partitioning of the MISR production software design into the respective Product Generation Executables (PGEs), or executable processes, for Level 1 and Level 2 processing. Although not illustrated here, the Level 1 PGE's 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 all use as their primary input the respective forms of MISR Level 0 data. On the other hand, PGE 7 uses only the spacecraft navigation and attitude data. As a pre-requisite for PGE 1 and thence for the Level 2 PGEs, PGE 7 creates geometric parameters that describe the Space Oblique Mercator (SOM) map projection and related parameters, which are used by the Level 1B2 and the Level 2 products.
