NASA is eliminating the use of the FTP protocol for any external communications and replacing it with other file transport mechanisms (e.g., SFTP, https). The timeframe for migrations varies per service. In most cases, users of the new file transport mechanisms will be required to obtain an Earthdata Login account. Instructions to register for an Earthdata Login account are available at https://urs.earthdata.nasa.gov/users/new.

The ASDC would like to perform a comprehensive and required maintenance from Friday January 19, 2018 through Friday January 26, 2018 with preliminary work that may impact availability beginning as early as Thursday evening January 18th. Additionally, the ASDC network upgrade is planned for Friday January 19th, which will likely cause the network to be unavailable for a period of time. The dropbox will remain online during the maintenance activities. The ASDC will prioritize the maintenance activities in order to reduce the impacts to production and web hosting services.

- DataPool FTP and OPeNDAP
- MISR Order and Customization Tool

The ASDC is scheduling a two day outage for the DPO GPFS filesystems and SCF2 file system starting at 9 AM Saturday morning July 29, 2017 through Sunday July 30, 2017. The Univa Grid queues will be quiesced on AMI and AMI-P the evening of July 28, 2017 at 9PM. ANGe ingest will be paused beginning at 8am Saturday July 29 and the dropbox will remain online for delivery of data only. Additionally, other GPFS mounts (via afp, samba and nfs) may be unavailable as we will need to stop GPFS on the fileservers to perform this maintenance on the DPO and SCF2 filesystems. Data processing and distribution may be impacted during maintenance. We apologize for the inconvenience.
