What is the ASDC DAAC?

The Atmospheric Science Data Center is in the Science Directorate located at NASA Langley Research Center in Hampton, Virginia. The Data Center specializes in atmospheric data important to understanding the causes and processes of global climate change and the consequences of human activities on the climate.

What is a DAAC?

Distributed Active Archive Centers are part of NASA's Earth Observing System Data and Information System (EOSDIS). Each of the twelve DAACs serve specific Earth science disciplines and provide the user community with data products, data information, user services, and tools unique to its particular science.

When will my data be available?

The availability of new data sets is dependent upon a number of factors, many of which are not under our direct control. This makes it difficult to give exact release dates for specific data sets. However, we would be happy to notify you when the item you desire does become available for distribution.

How do I provide feedback and suggestions?

To improve service to our customers, we encourage you to provide feedback about your experience with ASDC DAAC products and services using the ASDC Earthdata Forum. Understanding your needs is critical to the improvement of our site and success of ASDC DAAC operations.

How do I download data sets?

Collection level pages include a "Data Distribution" column that will include options for downloading data.

I can't read the data I just downloaded.

For most of the data we archive, we also provide read software. If you need assistance locating or using read software, please contact User Services for assistance. When contacting User Services, please include answers to the following questions (where applicable):

Computer Architecture/Operating System Information:
